A cracked tooth or sudden pain doesn't wait for a convenient time. Call our office and we'll do everything we can to see you the same day.

What We Treat

  • Severe toothaches
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Knocked-out teeth
  • Lost fillings or crowns
  • Swelling or infection

If You Have a Knocked-Out Tooth Right Now

Pick it up by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If that's not possible, keep it in milk or between your cheek and gum, and get to our office (or an emergency room if we're closed) immediately — the first 30–60 minutes matter most for the tooth's chance of survival.

Common Emergencies & What to Do

  • Severe toothache: Rinse with warm water, floss gently to rule out trapped food, and call us — don't place aspirin directly on the gum.
  • Chipped tooth: Save any broken piece if you can, rinse your mouth, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
  • Lost filling or crown: Keep the piece if possible and avoid chewing on that side until you're seen.
  • Facial swelling: This can indicate infection and needs prompt attention — call immediately, even after hours.

Preventing Future Emergencies

Most dental emergencies fall into two categories: trauma (sports, falls, biting something hard) and neglect (a cavity or crack that went unnoticed too long). A custom sports mouthguard protects against the first; twice-yearly checkups catch the second before it becomes urgent.

After-Hours & Urgent Contact

See our FAQs page for more on what to do outside office hours. For anything life-threatening — heavy bleeding, facial swelling affecting your breathing or swallowing — go directly to the nearest emergency room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you see me the same day?

We hold same-day slots for true emergencies — call as early as possible so we can fit you in.

What if it's after hours?

Call our office at (818) 343-2244 and leave a message; for severe emergencies (heavy bleeding, facial swelling affecting breathing/swallowing), go to your nearest emergency room.

Can a knocked-out tooth be saved?

Often, yes — especially if it's re-implanted or brought to us within an hour. Speed matters more than anything else.

What if my crown or filling just fell out but doesn't hurt?

Still call us soon — the exposed tooth is more vulnerable to decay and further damage the longer it's left unprotected.

Do you treat dental infections?

Yes, including prescribing antibiotics when needed and coordinating any follow-up treatment like a root canal or extraction.
